"And please, for the love of god, do NOT be a commenter." Um, well I'm going to be a commenter here anyway. As someone who has run small organizations, I know that you make excellent points about the difficulty of quick change. A good way to make a lot of difference quickly is to abolish whole agencies and departments. When what they do is almost wholly destructive, that's not too complicated. Just difficult. Milei has done it, Trump did a bit of this by systematically reducing the insane number of regulations. Tear out whole layers of interference!

I have been libertarian (lowercase) for decades but have never previously voted either D or R for president. For years, I maintained that I would not vote for Trump despite intensely disliking Biden and the Democrats. I finally changed my mind a couple of months ago. A lot will go badly under Trump (I'm especially concerned about tariffs and Vance's positive view of Linda Khan) but things have been getting steadily worse under the Democrats and their almost complete grip on power *must* be broken. Since I live in a swing State (Arizona) my vote has a larger (but still tiny) chance of making a difference.

"My support of Trump is about bowing to a new god" -- clearly you are missing a "not".

Good pick up on the error. Thankyou.

And yes - wholesale abolition is best. I just wonder how hard that is with all of the slime & sludge in the way. US bureaucratic infra is set up in such a way that it seems not-so-straight forward..

Appreciate the comment!
